Alabama Visit

Visited Tuscaloosa a few weekends ago, for the first time, and was blown away by the campus! I was so impressed by the size and beauty of the buildings and, especially, the sorority houses. Some sororities are even getting an upgrade and will have a new house by next year! I have a lot of work to do to give those houses justice.

I would love some ideas for other famous places in the south! I have a bulldog statue on the list but not sure where to go from there? Southern friends, what landmark would you like to see in my watercolor?

I might be doing the Canton Flea Market in October and would be up for creating some Canton, Jackson, or Madison locations.

Was thinking about The Chapel of the Cross, it holds such a special place in my heart. I grew up there, my 6th great grandmother built it so her daughter, my name sake, Frances Britton, could get married in a church. I was confirmed there, proposed to there, and married there.

I want to watercolor places like that for people, places that pull that strong connection.
